Still waiting...day 115 since log in date
We are still waiting for our last confirmation letter from China so our travel approval can be issued. It's absolutely grueling waiting. Each day we hope to hear something...but as 12 Noon rolls around our hopes fade...if it hasn't come by then we're doubtful that will be the day. I have been sick with a stomach virus for the last two days with Gatorade close by. I feel like I've slept through a couple of days ('cause I have). Today I still can't eat, I'm feeling weak still, but I'm able to get up and function somewhat. What a surprise this morning to find that we have more pictures of Lily taken March 3, 2007!...we can't wait to meet all of our new friends in China very soon and hug & kiss our daughter. She's beautiful! I'm comforted that she looks happy, healthy, and has a new molar!

101 Days
Yesterday was sunny and 72 degrees...perfect weather. I think we've seen the last of the cold. That's ok with me because then I feel like things are changing...Spring is coming and so is our day to meet Lily. Winter has gone by sooo slow for me--even for a southern winter.
Today is 101 days since our dossier and letter of intent to adopt were logged in at the CCAA. Let's hope that our next post is full of good news of our final letter of confirmation arriving since the Chinese New Year is over and the CCAA is back to work Monday (our Sunday evening).

Today we are nearly 3 months since our LID (11/14/06) of our dossier. All day I've been seeing people posting on the various adoption Yahoo Groups that they have received their last confirmation letter today that arrives right before their travel approval is issued. These families are LID on, around, and even AFTER we are...I even saw a person LID in DECEMBER.
Tonight I had two exams...how do you think I did??? My stomach is in knots...I can't sleep...I feel like I walk around like a zombie...just--numb. We are totally ready to bring Lily home. I am sad...then angry...jealous...thankful for others getting theirs, BUT....back to sad. I wish I could put into words how it feels to love a child I've never even met.
Since September 2006 we have been captivated by her sweet face. When we first opened Lily's referral picture we both silently just stared at her face for a long time. I turned to Eric as I pointed to Han Xue and said, "She's Lily"...
This is Lily Han Xue Smith...

IT'S OFFICIAL...WE'RE DTC!!!!!!!!!

Today's the day! We're PAPER PREGNANT! Our letter of intent to adopt Lily & our dossier are on the way to China via Fed-Ex. We have the tracking number too! I'll be checking the tracking more times than you'll ever get me to admit. In 3-4 months we'll be traveling to Siping, Jilin Province, China to bring home our precious Lily! We are going to start putting together a care package to send--a baby blanket, stuffed animal, a toy or 2, etc... We are so excited!!
When we drive by our subdivisions pool I see the slide & think that the next time we go to the pool we'll be taking Lily! I look at the swing set in the backyard & see in my mind Lily in a baby swing. And, when I swing on the porch swing I think of holding her on my lap singing Lily a song.
OH MY GOSH....I've gots lots to do...! :)
